Artist Statement
“I am an artist… it took a long time to say that and feel good about it. What being an artist means to me is that it’s taken a long time but I am more free to just be myself in the world without self-judgment or criticism, and make art from that freedom. And be able to share that.
My work is an expression of my curiosity about the world. I like to bring energy, color, and a sense of humor and imperfection to this work, transforming organic shapes into conversations - the shapes react and respond to each other and the viewer. I hope you experience feelings of joy, freedom, and connection. “ - Emily
